Dreams and Imaginations of Golden Indonesia 2045 will raise optimism and collective enthusiasm for all the nation's children to realize Indonesia becoming a rich country in 2045. Dreams will be realized if dreams are reduced to a strategy, carried out in the form of action, and there is ammunition support to finance the strategy and action. This strong thing is the background to its birth white paper LPEM.
The next five years will be the first five years in the 20 year achievement of the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. As a unique large archipelagic country with a diversity of religions, ethno-cultures and social norms, bringing Indonesia's 278 million people through the narrow corridor to become a developed country is not easy. The demographic transition, digital transition, energy transition, and global fragmentation add complexity to development planning.
LPEM FEB UI as an Institute for Economic and Community Research, has a moral and academic obligation to contribute new thoughts and ideas, to help realize the dream of Indonesia 2045. Therefore, LPEM FEB UI launched Whitepaper-From LPEM for Indonesia: Economy and Society Agenda 2024-2029. Fourteen topics white paper LPEM was written by mostly young researchers who look honestly, critically and openly about Indonesia 2045. Criticizing does not mean hating, but we offer solutions. Whitepaper is a manifestation of our love and devotion to this beloved country.
Deep writings white paper It is hoped that this will be able to answer needs related to what the government needs to do in the future. Indeed, appropriate policies are needed, in accordance with community needs and of course in line with the government's future work plans. So it is necessary to find an equilibrium condition between ideal conditions and reality on the ground. Not all issues can be discussed specifically in this article, such as education, inequality, MSMEs, and institutions. However, the 14 topics are crucial topics in preparing for Golden Indonesia 2045 and will become the economic and societal agenda in 2024-2029. If so far pessimistic and optimistic views have colored public discussions, LPEM FEB UI provides a realistic view of Indonesia's achievements as a developed country. Indonesia will become a developed country in time, therefore preparing a strong, innovative and productive middle class must be fulfilled even if developed countries are not achieved by 2045.
