MACROECONOMIC ANALYSIS SERIES: Monthly Inflation, September 2021

Inflation in August was recorded at 1,59 percent year-on-year, stronger than the previous month with inflation of 1,52 percent. Inflation in this period was driven by strengthening inflation in the government-regulated price component and volatile goods prices, although core inflation experienced a slight weakening. Inflation in the price component regulated by the government was recorded at 0,65 percent, stronger than the previous month with inflation of 0,61 percent. Inflation in the volatile goods price component also experienced quite significant strengthening from 2,97 percent in July 2021 to 3,80 percent in August 2021. On the other hand, core inflation experienced a slight weakening from 1,40 percent in July 2021 to 1,31. 2021 percent in August XNUMX. In general, there is more active economic activity compared to August last year.
