Inflation in April was recorded at 1,42 percent year-on-year, strengthening compared to the previous month with inflation of 1,37 percent. Inflation in this period was driven by strengthening volatile inflation and inflation in the government-regulated price component, although inflation in the core component weakened slightly. Volatile inflation was recorded at 2,73 percent, strengthening compared to the previous month which was only 2,49 percent. Inflation in the government-regulated price component also strengthened from 0,88 percent in March 2021 to 1,12 percent in April 2021. In contrast, core inflation weakened slightly from 1,21 percent in March 2021 to 1,18 percent in April 2021. However, the weakening of inflation in the core component was not strong enough to reduce general inflation in this period year-on-year.
