MACROECONOMIC ANALYSIS SERIES: Monthly Inflation, February 2019

Inflation in January was recorded to have fallen quite sharply, where general inflation year-on-year (yoy) and month-to-month (mtm) was recorded at 2,82% and 0,32%. Inflation in January was recorded as relatively low January inflation, where monthly inflation in January 2018 and 2017 was recorded at 0,62% (mtm) and 0,97% respectively. The effect of falling volatile goods prices was the main factor driving inflation down in January. With the fairly high frequency of rain, logistical improvements carried out by the government have more or less reduced inflationary pressure.
