MACROECONOMIC ANALYSIS SERIES: Monthly Inflation, December 2021

Year on year (yoy) inflation has continued to strengthen over the last 5 months, becoming the highest inflation throughout 2021. Inflation in November was recorded at 1,75 percent, stronger than the previous month with inflation of 1,66 percent. Strengthening inflation in this period was driven by strengthening core inflation and government-regulated prices. Meanwhile, holding back inflation this month is inflation at volatile prices which is experiencing weakening. Core inflation was recorded at 1,44 percent, stronger than the previous month with inflation of 1,33 percent. Inflation in the government regulated price component also strengthened from 1,47 percent in October 2021 to 1,69 percent in November 2021. On the other hand, inflation in the volatile price component weakened again from 3,16 percent in October 2021 to 3,05 .2021 percent in November XNUMX.
