ECONOMIC ANALYSIS SERIES: TRADE AND INDUSTRY BRIEF, November 2020

Former vice president of the United States (US), Joe Biden and senator Kamala Harris won the US election after winning 306 electoral votes. A Biden-Harris victory will certainly have implications not only for US domestic policy, but also for foreign policy and world trade . This November edition of Trade and Industry Brief looks at the possible impact of a Biden-Harris victory on the Indonesian economy. In general, the issue of the US-China trade war is expected to remain the main issue that will influence global trade trends. The trade war that started since the Trump administration has had a quite positive impact on the Indonesian economy. With the election of Biden, Indonesia needs to continue to ensure that investment from the US-China does not decline. Apart from that, Indonesia also needs to take care
balance of relations with these two giant countries.
