ECONOMIC ANALYSIS SERIES: TRADE AND INDUSTRY BRIEF, March 2020

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 outbreak which began in China in December 2019, Indonesia officially announced the first two cases on March 2 2020. Since then, the Indonesian economy has faced serious challenges due to difficulties in importing production raw materials, threats to the availability of basic materials, loss of income. from tourism, as well as strengthening sentiment towards holding the USD currency rather than the Rupiah. This March edition of the Trade and Industry Brief briefly describes the economic impact of the COVID-19 outbreak and the options available to mitigate it.
