Reviewing 'Student Loans' as a Financing Alternative for Increasing Access to Higher Education

Improving the quality of human resources is not only one of the current commitments of the government of the Republic of Indonesia, but is also part of the flagship program of presidential and vice presidential candidates in this year's elections. The education sector, including higher education, is one of the main pillars in efforts to improve the quality of national human resources. Various studies have shown the important role of education as a tool for vertical mobility and reducing poverty. Increasing access to education means increasing opportunities for people to improve their welfare. Therefore, increasing access to education, including higher education, is one of the main evaluation aspects in the education sector.
