ECONOMIC EXPERTS SURVEY

CURRENT ECONOMIC CONDITIONS LOOK WORSE ACCORDING TO MOST EXPERTS

The majority of experts, 23 out of 42 (55%), agree that current economic conditions have worsened compared to three months ago. Seven experts even consider the situation to be much worse, while 11 experts consider it stagnant, and only one expert sees it as better. With an average confidence interval of 7,71 points, the survey results show a generally pessimistic view of Indonesia's economic conditions, according to economists.

About This Survey:

An independent survey conducted by LPEM FEB UI aims to capture expert insights on Indonesia's economic landscape, strengthening the institution's commitment to informed policy discussions and the country's future development. The survey focuses on experts' perceptions of current economic and social conditions, as well as policy developments, by comparing them with previous periods and assessing expectations for the future.

The survey was conducted online from February 14, 2025 to February 24, 2025. The survey sample consisted of 42 economists from various backgrounds, including academics, research institutions, think tanks, the private sector, and multinational organizations. Respondents represented a range of domestic and international perspectives, coming from various regions in Indonesia, such as West Java, Jakarta, West Nusa Tenggara, East Kalimantan, East Java, Yogyakarta, and Central Java, as well as from Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
