LABOR MARKET BRIEF: Volume 3, Number 8, August 2022

Workers' wages can provide an overview of the welfare of workers, especially informal workers, who tend to experience fluctuations. In the July 2022 period, BPS noted that wages for workers in rural areas (farm workers) and in urban areas (construction workers) experienced an increase in nominal terms, but experienced a decrease in nominal terms. This shows that workers' purchasing power has decreased compared to last year's conditions. Analysis of this condition can be carried out to evaluate policies in order to maintain people's purchasing power, especially informal groups.
