The government, through the Ministry of Manpower, started February 2022 by establishing a new Minister of Manpower Regulation which regulates Old Age Security (JHT), one of the Employment Social Security programs. With the stipulation of Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 2 of 2022 concerning Procedures and Requirements for Payment of Old Age Security Benefits, the government revoked Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 19 of 2015. In the previous regulation, claims for JHT could be made after one month after the worker resigned from the workplace. In general, Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 2 of 2022 regulates that benefits from JHT are given to participants when they reach the age of 56 years. This regulation applies from early May 2022.
