Labor Market Brief – March 2021 Edition

The Job Creation Law which was passed at the end of 2020 is equipped with 51 derivative regulations which were passed in February 2021. This law and its derivative regulations generally aim to create conditions that can create a good business climate. The hope is that this will expand job opportunities in Indonesia. These derivative regulations also regulate several aspects of employment in Indonesia, such as regulations regarding worker status, wages, working hours, layoff compensation, and the use of foreign workers. Directly or indirectly, this also has an impact on the workforce in Indonesia.
