Labor Market Brief – February 2021 Edition

February 23, 2021

The level of poverty and inequality is an indicator that describes the level of social welfare and reducing the rate of growth is one of the goals of a country's economic development. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the decline in poverty and inequality levels in the last decade to increase again. Therefore, the government, through the National Economic Recovery program, is trying to provide a safety net in order to maintain the economic resilience of society, especially the poor and vulnerable population groups. This effort was quite successful in preventing poverty and inequality from increasing too high in 2020 and aid allocation continued in 2021.
