On the other hand, reform is proceeding with unclear timelines and agendas. This is the paradox facing the global economy today. This is a difficult situation considering that there are many elements that must be addressed, such as global stability which includes the global financial architecture, micro macroprudential regulation and debt difficulties. This is reflected in the need for Multinational Development Banks (MDBs) and International Financial Institutions (IFIs) to encourage funding in a good direction, especially towards sustainability. For this reason, the role of private financing is very important. But the optimization of public money must be driven to attract private money as a deceptive instrument.

Let's find out more about the results of the T20 India side event, Task Force 5 Side Event which was held at the Westin, Nusa Dua, Bali, 8-9 June 2023, with the theme "Building Bridges to Sustainable Finance: The Reform Agenda of International Financial Institutions ”. This side event was attended by experts from leading research institutions and universities around the world, representatives of international financial institutions, and relevant policy makers from G20 countries as well as from other developing countries. The Public Discussion was chaired by Andrea Brugora (research fellow at the ISPI Geoeconomics Center), the session presented three panelists, namely Chatib Basri (Senior Lecturer at the University of Indonesia), Ashima Goyal (Professor Emeritus of Economics at the Indira Gandhi Institute for Development Research), and Matthew Agarwala (Economist at the Policy Institute Public, University of Cambridge). The activities carried out focus on various issues related to institutions, regional economics, international trade, finance and banking, fiscal and monetary economics, agriculture, industry, tourism, rural development, environment, demography, employment, poverty and MSMEs.
