MACROECONOMIC ANALYSIS: Inflation October 2018

In October 2018, inflation was recorded at 0,28% (mtm) or 2,22% (ytd). Inflation this month was higher than in September 2018 where there was deflation of 0,18% (mtm). Inflation this month was also higher compared to inflation in October 2017 of 0,01% (mtm). Inflation in October 2018 was in line with LPEM FEB UI's predictions in the previous analysis where inflation was predicted to occur. Apart from being driven by volatile components, this inflation is also driven by pressure on the rupiah on government regulated prices as well as prices of secondary and tertiary goods.
