INFLATION ANALYSIS FOR AUGUST 2016

September 5, 2016

In August 2016, deflation (general) was recorded at 0,02% (mtm) or 2,79% (yoy). Compared to previous years, deflation in August 2016 was the only deflation in the last 8 years. One of the reasons for this is related to the shift in the fasting month and Eid. Eight years ago deflation occurred before entering the month of Ramadan, while this year, August is the month for normalization of food prices and modes of transportation.
